File processing and website analytics are separate

The converter processes your selected ICO file in your browser and does not send that file to our servers. Website analytics providers may still receive ordinary visit and device data.

The current converter has the following file-handling behavior:

  • No converter file upload: The file selected in the converter is read and processed locally by browser JavaScript.
  • No converter file storage: The normal conversion flow does not send the ICO file or generated PNG to our servers.
  • No Registration Required: You can use our service without creating an account or providing any personal information.

The site and its service providers may process information needed to deliver, secure, and understand use of the website:

We currently load Google Analytics, Ahrefs Web Analytics, and Microsoft Clarity. Depending on their current configurations and your browser settings, these services may process:

  • Clicks, scrolling, and session interactions collected by Microsoft Clarity

3. How Your Files Are Processed

Understanding our client-side processing is key to your privacy:

  1. You select or drag an ICO file into our converter
  2. Your browser reads the file using JavaScript
  3. The file is converted to PNG format using browser APIs
  4. The converted file is offered for download
  5. In-memory file data is released when the page is refreshed or closed; downloaded files remain wherever you save them

The converter code does not transmit the selected ICO file or generated PNG to our servers. This statement does not mean that the website collects no analytics or server logs.

  • Tailwind CSS CDN: Page styling assets

These providers process data under their own privacy terms and retention settings. Blocking an analytics script should not prevent the browser-side converter from processing a file.

Browser-side file processing reduces file exposure to our servers, but no online service can promise absolute security. The site uses HTTPS for network connections, and you should avoid processing files you do not trust.

Our service is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
